KWEI takes AM full-time sports

Don Day | December 2, 2009

KWEI/1260 AM is now full-time sports, with ESPN Deportes radio. The station already carries Spanish-language broadcasts of Boise State sports on 99.5 FM as part of a partnership agreement with Peak Broadcasting – and has expanded ESPN programming to all dayparts on its AM station. The FM signal continues to pump out its “La Ley” format of Mexican Regional music.

What the….. Seems like their night time transmitter is putting out a lot more power after dark than it did a few years ago…. or maybe my radio just magically increased its sensativity……LOL…..

Smart move on KWEI’s part. The 2010 World Cup is right around the corner. Now being an affiliate of ESPN they will have the broadcast rights here for the World Cup! IF they are smart they should already have packages made and hitting the streets. ITs only a few months away
