Unresolved questions
Don Day | January 8, 2010While I’m preparing to sign off here, there are lots of questions that remain. These are the stories that I would be following if I were going to hang around…
- Will Boise Community Radio ever launch? Will it be a success? Is it needed?
- Will Peak Broadcasting survive its heavy debt load?
- Will Citadel Broadcasting keep the Boise cluster under the pressure of bankruptcy? Who would be a buyer?
- When will KQFC move to 102.7 and KSAS move to 103.5? Construction permits are up – but when will the big moves happen?
- That new frequency allotment coming to Boise will wind up in someone’s hands – but whose? Will Impact grab another FM? What would the program?
- Can KZMG/93.1 Hit Music Now hang on? Will KJOT/J-105 still be viable into the future?
Don,
This may be a little late around here, but……….Thanks for keeping us informed, you will be missed here.
Providing “all the news that fits” to those of us who are, or have been (like me) in the business you cover so well, I have appreciated you insights.
Everything changes, as they say!!
The best of luck to you in the future.
See ya with the “blooz”
Rick
All good reasons to keep this site going…or at least hand over the keys to someone like Jim Smith or another trusted person to maintain the site…
The answers are:
===No.
===Peak will self-destruct.
===Citadel will be forced to sell the cluster and Larry Wilson will come to the rescue buying everything at a steep discount in a “fire” sale.
===The frequency changes will happen in late 2010, 2011 or December 21, 2012 (Poof!).
===KZMG will hang on by a thread for another year and then be replaced by polka music with voice trackers out of Minnesota.
===KJOT has never been viable so nothing will change.
